What is Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) skin regeneration therapy is the cutting-edge, anti-aging procedure. The treatment uses the patient’s own blood and thus poses no risk of allergy. The PRP treatment has the effect of increasing your innate natural healing power and tissue reorganization potential.
How Does Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy Work?
A tube (or two or three) of blood is drawn. While the skin is being numbed with a topical anesthetic cream, the blood sample is spun for around eight minutes in a centrifuge to produce the platelet rich plasma.
The platelet rich plasma is drawn from the tube into a small syringe. A small amount of calcium chloride solution is added to the syringe to stimulate the process. Once mixed in the syringe the platelet rich plasma is then injected in the cleaned anesthetized skin in either small lines or tiny dots in the deeper skin layer.
